Super Bowl Weekend

The kids and I headed to Carey this last weekend to meet up with Troy and stay at our friend Tom's new house. Troy had been working up there all week and met me in Shoshone because there was SO much snow and the roads were kind of bad so he didn't want me driving alone with all the kids (thank goodness he read my mind:). We had an amazing weekend. We played cards and hung out Saturday night grilling steak and chicken on the grill and Dave and Steph made some awesome potatoes in the dutch oven. Amazing recipe I will share it when I get it from them. And Marcy made some yummy big homemade rolls. The kids just ran around and played all evening until Dave was ready to set off all the fireworks he brought. We watched the firework show in the snow (so cool) and then the kids were mad when we said they HAD to finally go to bed around 11:30 (way past their bedtime)!

When we woke up Sunday morning we couldn't believe the snow we got the night before. We even packed everything up and decided to head home instead of stay for the game because we were worried it would take quite a while to get out in our van if we could at all. We probably got another 14-15 inches on top of all the snow that was already there. There was 4-4 1/2 feet in spots. It was AMAZING and so BEAUTIFUL!! After evaluating the situation we decided that we would stay and play and follow Dave & Perry's trucks out. So we cooked a big yummy breakfast and played some more. Brit and her boyfriend left to head home in his truck and we told them that if we didn't hear from them by a certain time we would come looking.....sure enough, no call. So all the adults (minus Perry) got on a snowmobile and headed down the road and found Brit's boyfriend's truck off the road buried in snow. After getting them out we decided the snow was too great to go back to the house so we rode around for awhile and it was SOOOOOO fun and the perfect snow to ride on.

We made it back in time to make a big pot of taco soup and Dave made homemade cinnimon rolls and all of us made a bunch of finger foods to watch the game. It was such a fun weekend and we made it home SAFE :) !
