Lots To Share...

So I have been away from my blog for a few days and now I have so much to share. Our oldest, Kayden, is now playing basketball. Troy is coaching with a friend of ours, David. David is the father of Kayden's best friend Dalin and it is so fun to watch these boys play together and have their dads coaching. Last Saturday Kayden had quite the cheering section. My parents happened to be passing through on their way out of town and stopped to watch the game. Gary & Amber & Reggie, Troy's mom Deb, and his sister Wende and her two kids Monica and Andrew all attended also. It was so neat that they all made it to watch Kayden play....he was pretty proud to have a cheering section and every time he made a shot he turned and looked at all of us and started jumping up and down with his arms straight up in the air. Everyone continues to tell me that he is a great athlete like his dad, but always has a little of his mom in him (cheerleader) whenever he scores! :)

Then on Saturday night we had Britney come and watch our three kids and Regie and we went out with Gary and Amber. It was such a fun relaxing evening. We started out by going to Sakura (Amber's choice and favorite restaurant). It is a lot of fun. It is a Japanese restaurant where they cook everything right in front of you. Their cooks are pretty amazing they flip the eggs up in the air, they spin stuff around, they make little onion volcanos like the picture below. Besides having great food the entertainment is great. Amber talked me into trying the fried noodles this time instead of the fried rice. They were YUM-O!! I will defintely be getting them the next time we go.

Then after dinner we decided to go cosmic bowling. They have all the lights turned off and loud music playing. And if you get a strike when you have a colored pin in front you win a prize. We had a great time.....actually we had our own little party and entertained the people on both sides of us! :)

Strike!!

You would think she got a strike with this reaction, but I am pretty sure there is still a pin standing in the background! :)

Then when we got home after bowling we had this really cute sign hanging in our doorway for us to see as soon as we walked in. Dang, I love my kids! :)

Sunday we had went and kidnapped the Cederberg clan and went to lunch together and then went and let each of the boys pick out a game to rent for the wii. Okay, okay, the adults picked out a couple too! :) Then we came back to the house and played games all afternoon as a family. We made a big pot of homemade chicken noodle soup for the moms and kids, but the hubbys being the picky boys that they are didn't want soup so they had big plates of macho nachos. It was such a fun day! Thanks Cederbergs for sharing it with us.

Okay...and now to finish up this post. I was book tagged by both Jessica and Ace, so here goes...

Book Tagged!

Okay so my sister Jess and my friend Ace both tagged me and here are the instructions

The rules are as follows:

1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).

2. Open the book to page 123.

3. Find the fifth sentence.

4. Post the next five sentences.

5. Tag five people.

The book I am reading is called His Needs Her Needs by Willard F. Harley, Jr.

If a husband seriously wants to meet his wife's need to feel close to him, he will give the task sufficient time and attention. I tell male clients they should learn to set aside fifteen hours a week to give their wives undivided attention. Many men look at me as if they think i'm losing my mind, or they just laught and say, "In other words, I need a thirty-six-hour day." I don't bat an eye, but simply ask them how much time they spent giving their wives undivided attention during their courting days. Any bachelor who fails to devote something close to fifteen hours a week to his girlfriend faces the strong likelihood of losing her.

Okay and now I tag the follwing five people (that Jess and Ace haven't already tagged!:)

1-Robin Gibbons
2-Marilyn Poulsen
3-Shannon Stephens
4-Wendy Mastrude
5-Kristin Reese

Day With Grandpa

Yesterday Troy's Dad, Papa Steve, showed up at the house around 9:30 in the morning and asked Ori Clyde if he wanted to go and spend a couple of hours with him and help him work. Of course, Ori was absolutely THRILLED. They had been gone for a couple of minutes and I look out the window and see Steve's truck pull back up and he came up to the door. He said, "Ori told me he needed his sunglasses and that it would only take a minute to go back and get them, so please go back to my house." I couldn't help but laugh. He got to stay and help Grandpa all day and even go on a motorcycle ride after Grandma bundled him up well. He showed back up at the house around 5. After Grandpa and Grandma dropped him off and left Ori looked at me and said, "Mom, you are never going to believe it!! Grandpa has the same last name as us!! His name is Jensen too!!" It was the cutest thing EVER! Thanks Steve for letting your grandson spend the day with you. It meant so much to him!

Last night we had a little wii action going on. We ordered in Chinese with Gary and Amber. After dinner was over and all the kids were in bed, Dorrel & D'Nette, Gary & Amber, Chris & Amy, and Troy & I played the wii. We split up into teams of two, one girl and one guy, and had a little tennis tournament. My partner was Chris and we kicked butt!! No one could beat us. It was a lot of fun. Then we took a break from the wii and played the new Scene It game Squabble. It is Chick Flicks vs. Guy Picks. So you play girls against guys. The guys totally stomped on us (and being a competitive person that is not easy for me to say:) It was a very enjoyable evening with great friends. I wish I had some pictures to share, but I was too much into the game....and besides, it is hard to take pictures when you are so good and never lose! :) Thanks Chris for being such an amazing partner!!

Date Night

This last week has been a little bit of a struggle with the boys. It seems like all they do right now is fight and I feel like all I get accomplished all day long is break up fights. I told Troy I was in desperate need of a couple hours away from the house with a little bit of adult conversation. So he made arrangements to take me to dinner tonight and much to my surprise invited our good friends to join us. Dorrel & D'Nette picked us up around 6:30 and we went and ate at Carinos Italian Grill. Amber came and sat with the kids (Thanks girl, you are the best!) so my hubby could get me out of the house for a bit. It was great food, amazing company, and an overall fun night. Thanks Double Ds for joining us. Thanks baby for getting me out of the house!!

Kayden's hair

Kayden is now in Kindergarten and is really good about getting up every morning and getting ready for school, eating his breakfast, brushing his teeth, and then I help him comb his hair before we head out the door. Well the other day when Troy came home from work he made the rounds and talked to each of his kids to see how thier day was and etc. etc. During his conversation with Kayden, Kayden told him that he didn't like the way that I comb his hair (just a little explanation, Kayden has the "Jensen cowlick"(sp) just like his dad in the front and also one in the back so it is hard to style his hair just right without it stick straight up in the air) so back to the story...when I comb his hair it is spiked down his part and the rest is combed down to the side. It looks cute...I thought. He told Troy that everyday as soon as he gets to school that he goes into the bathroom and puts a little water on his hand and wets his hair down so none of it is spiked up and then he goes to class. He is 6 and in Kindergarten for one, and for two has never said ANYTHING to me about this. When Troy came upstairs and told me we stood in the kitchen and just laughed together. So yesterday and today we did Kayden's hair the "new" way and he was so happy. I told him from now on just to come to me and tell me and we can see what we can do to change things to make them better. Dang, I love that kid. They just grow up too fast!! Here is a pic of my handsome little devil!!

So I have finished one more bow to sell and added it to the rest. If you are interested you can click on the link to the right. Just click on whatever bow you are interested in and it will give you the details. This cork screw one is so cute in the hair. I know the pic is a little blurry! Still love It!!

We had an awesome weekend and I haven't even had a chance to tell you about it. On Friday night we went cosmic bowling with two different couples we are close with. We went with Dorrel & D'nette and Chris and Amy. We played guys against girls and I am pretty sure the girls kicked butt in all the games but one! It was a great night! I am totally bummed that I didn't take my camera in, but got sidetracked in all the fun!

Then on Saturday night we helped celebrate a really good friend, Dave Nelson, 40th birthday. It was a ton of fun. I did remember to take my camera to this and will share a few of my fav pics.

Then on Sunday we had Chris & Amy and Troy's brother Thayne and his daughter and roommate over for football and pizza. Overall a great weekend!!

Here are some pics from the bday party...

Something New I Am Working On

Okay, so I have found a new little something I am working on. I have always had a hard time finding really cute bows for Jaycee's hair in the stores. They just don't carry them. So I decided that I am going to teach myself how to make bows and that way I can make them in all the different colors to match her outfits. It actually has been a lot of fun and I am loving the results. Jaycee thinks they are pretty cool too. I may even sell a few on eBay if I get good enough at it. I also made a bow holder to hang in her closet so we don't start losing bows here and there. It is a great way to keep track of them and keep them all in one place. I took some pictures of a few of the different bows I have completed so far. Let me know what you think.
