YUM-O!!

My younger son of the two got to go and stay the night at his cousin's house last night (which he has been begging and begging to do), but my oldest didn't get to go because he is in school now. He was sad about it, so I made him a deal that we would go on a little date.....just the two of us....and get ice cream last night. We went to Baskin Robbins and I tried one of their seasonal flavors, peppermint. It was SOOOOOOOOOO good. Very refreshing! Had little pieces of candy cane in it. It totally put me in the Christmas spirit. If you get a chance you totally should try it!! YUM-O!!

I am thankful for........

I love Thanksgiving time and it seems like from here on out the holiday season just fills the air. This is a time that always makes us remember what we are truly thankful for.

I AM THANKFUL FOR......

- A husband who works hard for his family and never complains.

- Three healthy, active, fun kids who keep us hopping but always put a smile on our faces.

- That my kids have such a great daddy who will always take time to play with them but is also a great role model and teaches them a lot.

- Having lots of family around us all the time. I love that my kids have grandparents, uncles & aunts, and cousins in their lives everyday.

- Being blessed with lots of close friends who we love to hang out with and who love us for who we are.

- That my Cowboys are FINALLY having an amazing season. (Watch out Green Bay....here we come!!)

- For whoever discovered that peanut butter and chocolate went so well together and for my favorite show, Grey's Anatomy, that makes me cry every week. But, especially for my husband who shows up from work with a peanut butter twix for me and then cuddles up on the couch with me to watch Grey's together (yes, my hubby that doesn't watch hardly any television is now hooked on Grey's thanks to his wife :).

- And I am especially thankful for YOU......because if you are reading this blog that means you are a part of our lives and have somehow connected with us and we are thankful to have you!!

What are you thankful for?

Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. It was my parent's year to have all their kids and families for Thanksgiving, so all of my sisters were there. My Grandpa and Grandma Knopp came for dinner also and Dad had the day off so it was a wonderful day. Mom and Grandma made tons and tons and tons of all the traditional and our families traditional food. It was SOOOOOOOOOO good. Then in the evening we had other family (aunts and uncles and their families) stop in to play games and hang out. We had a great day eating, visiting, napping, playing games, watching football, and spending time with those we are truly grateful for......our family. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Two of my favorite recipes

I just made these two digi pages (with the help of a friend who does a lot more digi scrapping than me) for a recipe exchange. The chicken in a blanket is a favorite my Grandma Lindsay has always made. LOVE IT!! The cookies are a favorite of our family. YUM-O!!

Hand-Me-Downs

Thanks Aunt Jess and Cousin Kaylie for all the fun new hand-me-downs. My closet was looking kind of empty after handing my "too small" clothes down to cousin Regie. It was so fun stocking it back up with cute new clothes. We love you guys!!

Busy, but FUN weekend

We had a fun filled weekend with lots going on. We started by having a birthday party for Ori on Saturday afternoon. Friday night when he went to bed he had a hard time going to sleep because he knew his party was the next day. I was downstairs dusting the living room so I could start decorating it for his party and I could hear him as he laid in his bed "trying" to go to sleep....he was singing to himself.."Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me!" Then he would yell to me...."When is it going to be morning?" I couldn't help but laugh to myself as I told him he had to fall asleep before morning would come. Then a few minutes later I could hear again..."Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me." He is such a fun kid.

His birthday party was a lot of fun. We had three different games for the kids to play. The first one was where they all had a balloon tied around their ankle with a string and they had to run around and try to pop every one's balloons without letting theirs get popped. Then we played the game where they had a time limit to see how many cotton balls they could get from one bowl to another without using their hands, only a big spoon. And the last game was split into two teams and they had to take turns running down and finding a piece of gum that was in a bag full of shredded paper, opening it up, and start chewing, then run back and the next person had to do it. The kids had a lot of fun and Ori got a lot of awesome gifts. Grandpa and Grandma gave him the remote control helicopter that he has been seeing on television. He also got the new movie Ratatoullie (sp) from his Aunt Abbie and our good friends got him the cutest pair of Carhart bibs so he could look like his dad. And he instantly insisted on putting them on and wore them for the rest of the party. Thanks to all of our family and friends who came and helped us celebrate this fun event.

Then Saturday evening we headed down to my parent's house. My mom was having a "Craft Day" on Sunday so we went there and stayed the night and started preparing stuff for the next day. My three sisters, my Mom, aunt Debi, aunt Marcy, aunt Jackie, Grandma Knopp, and I all worked on three projects all day Sunday. We made a fun Christmas pillow decoration, a turkey to decorate for Thanksgiving, and blocks to decorate for Christmas that say "believe" on them. Mom was in charge of the pillow craft and picked out all the material for us. Marcy (with the help of her hubby) cut out all the blocks and got the supplies for the believe blocks. And Jess made the pattern and got all the supplies for us to do the turkeys. It was so much fun and all the crafts turned out so awesome. Everyone brought finger foods to munch on all day and mom made the most amazing chicken rolls, cheesy potatoes, beer can chicken on the grill, and butter noodles (with the help of Grandma). The guys were invited too (to help with the kids) and hang out and play cards and watch football. It was such an enjoyable day!!
